I love basketball. I love everything about basketball. When one reaches to the sky, arms outstretched towards the ultimate goal, I see poetry. I see poetry when someone puts together such a set of movements with their hands that the person in front of them cannot possibly keep up. I see ballet.

The buzzer beater, for example, is one of my favourite considerations of basketball. To launch a shot, a final and hopeful shot: one chance to reach glory, to reach excellence. And when it goes in, the passion, the celebration – it is the ultimate representation of reaching a new height at the final and only moment you can.

Basketball provides a chance to see the world from the sky, looking down at the wonders below.
