more about bpd

some information and a handful of resources

borderline personality disorder (bpd) is a mental illness that gravely impacts one’s ability to regulate emotions, and this can consequently increase impulsivity, affect their relationships with others and their thoughts and feelings about themselves1. it is one of the most painful and devastating disorders to live with.

while bpd is the most common personality disorder, it is one of the lesser known mental illnesses. about 1 in 100 people live with bpd2 and yet it still remains one of the most stigmatised and misunderstood disorders, those living with bpd often villainised by healthcare systems and society.

in a sea of words and opinions that do little to inspire hope, neutrality and even positivity about bpd, it can become easy to feel hopeless and loathsome – to feel like you’re pieced together wrong. broken.

if you are someone that lives with bpd as well or someone that simply wishes to learn more, i would like to share a few resources that i have found informative, uplifting and useful on my journey to acceptance <3
